#12 Discovering feeds
I went to the teen flickr stream to see what was new and subscribed to the feed. If we put feeds that the public may not ordinarily go to, it could be a valuable educational tool - history channel or animal planet kinds of things. Catch them when they don't know they're learning... by the time they figure it out, they're already hooked!

#11 - RSS feed readers
I see value in this, however, I only subscribed to one (NYC Opera: Pressroom), and the amount of info that arrived in a few seconds was already overwhelming. Our society has an overload of tidbits of information. One person can't possibly have the time to sift through all of it. It encourages people to spend every waking moment on their computer without interacting or taking part in real life. We sit and follow events rather than living our own events and enjoying life. To me it's a frightening comment on the direction in which we are headed - no interpersonal interaction or communing with nature - just me and my computer... altho - some days that may not be such a bad thing! :-)

#10 Suffolkwave
I like Suffolkwave. Think it's very valuable. But... I'm a duh! I found RAVEL: Bolero / Daphnis et Chloe / Piano Concerto / Ma mere l'oye to download. When I went to download software, it was Windows Media Player, so I stopped it because I already have it. When I downloaded the music, it should have gone to Windows Media Player, or so I'd think. I clicked on what I thought was right, (can't remember now what) and I'm not sure where the dang thing went. Can't find it and don't know what I did. I don't have time right now to pursue, so.... I'm done!

I love this picture - not sure why, since I'm usually drawn more to nature pictures. Maybe I like it because it's so different from anything I would have thought of taking a picture of.

YouTube has its entertainment value. I think any information that is gotten from this source should be checked out in an authoritive source before anyone takes it as truth. Also, users need to be careful with their communications, as I've seen it become yet another source of bullying.

#7 - Library Thing

I like creating your own library and having it all together. I don't like the tag cloud on a library catalog. People choose really stupid stuff, and it dilutes the integrity of the catalog. I like the tag concept for it's purpose in Library Thing, just not bringing unauthorized information that may be incorrect into a Public Library's catalog. We need to retain some formal authority somewhere, or everything becomes invalid because it may be from a questionable source. There's no way to tell what's valid and what isn't.
